JVC INTRODUCES 200 AND 600 DISC CD LIBRARIES
Las Vegas, NV (November 18, 1996) -- JVC Information Products Company of America introduced today the industryÆs newest high capacity CD-ROM Library Systems.
The MC-1200 and MC-1600 systems are specifically designed to support the critical performance demands of network environments. The Libraries new price/performance levels expand the use of CD-ROM for Mass Storage Imaging and Archiving applications.
These versatile Libraries feature:
The Libraries provide a MSTF (Mean Swap Time to Failure) of over 1 million cycles. Initial product availability is scheduled for April, 1997, with estimated Suggested Retail Pricing of $12,000 for the MC-1200 and $18,000 for the MC-1600.
Industry leading CD-ROM access and recording software vendors have targeted support for the JVC Libraries and will introduce demonstrations at COMDEX. Windows NT and Unix O/S software support will be provided by Q-Star Technologies, Smart Storage and Tracer Technologies. Novell Netware support will also be implemented by Smart Storage.
